In February 2008, during a trip to Shyira, Rwanda, a place nestled in the northwestern part of the country bordering the Republic of Congo and home to the majestic Mountain Gorillas, I came across a sight that was both simple and striking. Amidst the aged structures and the varied history of the region, the freshly cut bundles of hay stood out vividly.
I captured this contrast in "Three Bundles." The fresh hay, with its vibrant hue, juxtaposed against the weathered building, told a story of time and resilience. But what added an extra layer of depth was the blue color of the door, a detail that tied the whole scene together. This image is a testament to the beauty that can be found in everyday moments, where the old and the new come together in harmony.
